Visual Aids for Effective Communication

There are two phases when you use visual aids with presentations – development and application. In this chapter, the Five By Five approach will help you through both phases. When you are developing visual aids, there are five rules that will guide you as you create effective visual aids. When you have developed your visual aids and are ready to use them, there are five application principles to guide you so that your message and aids work together to make your presentations as effective as possible. Before we discuss developing and applying visual aids, let’s take a look at some common types.
